The Police Department is the 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year, Saturday, Sunday and Holidays backbone of Police services to the City of Holden. A total of 13 officers are assigned to the Patrol Division including the Assistant Chief and Chief.

The Patrolman is responsible for providing police services.  This may include any of the following crime prevention, crime detection, traffic services, investigation of offenses, investigation of traffic accidents.

As a small city police department, one officer may carry out several duties on the job compared to the larger city police departments.
