Codes enforcement is as extension of the Holden Police Department.

Automobiles - Ordinance 51.510
The following are considered inoperable vehicles:
Any vehicle not registered with the State of Missouri or any other state.
Any vehicle that has stayed in one place so long the vegetation has grown up around it.
Any vehicle that appears to in disrepair and has not been moved under its own power for 72 hours.
Refuse, Garbage, Rubbish and Litter - Ordinance 62.000
Refuse is all solid waste, including garbage, rubbish, ashes, street cleanings, dead animals, abandoned automobiles, and solid market and industrial waste.
Garbage is animal and vegetable wastes resulting from the handling, preparation, cooking and consumption of food.
Rubbish is solid wastes consisting of both combustible and noncombustible wastes, such as paper, wrappings, cigarettes, cardboard, tin cans, yard clippings, leaves wood, glass, bedding, crockery and similar materials.
Weeds - Ordinance 65.000
It is the responsibility of the home owner to keep their grass and weeds cut. This includes all the way to the street, including ditches. Grass and weeds may not be over 12 inches high.
Dangerous Houses - Ordinance 41.000
Houses that appear to be in disrepair and uninhabitable may become on the City's list of dangerous houses and the owner will have the responsibility to make the appropriate repairs or the house may be abated and removed.
